Be sure to read chapters 8-11 in Clugston for this week, paying special attention to the stories and poems.

Reflecting on this week’s literary readings, as well as your own reading experiences, identify at least one major similarity and one major difference between the forms of the short story and the poem. How do the differences between these literary forms affect how you read and respond to them? 
 
In your response, include an example of at least one poem from this week’s readings. Describe the connections between (a) the poem’s form and/or use of literary devices and your experience of the poem and (b) your reading experience (see key literary terms listed in our textbook – e.g., alliteration, rhyme, iambic pentameter, etc.). If you wish, you may also compare your experience of the poem to your experience reading a short story that shares with the poem a similar theme.

There is a bio lab write up that needs to be done today.  Please just read the lab write up requirements and look at the picture attached.  Then write up the lab, it is a introduction to biology lab so it is not advanced, just keep it simple college work.  It needs to be one at 5pm today at the latest but I will give a bonus to anyone who can have it done faster.

Why is the use of standard data formats essential, or indeed, crucial to successful data processing? Information technology (IT) systems are considered to consist of four major components. What are the four components of an IT system? Briefly, describe each.

(3) Define a “bus”? What is the purpose of a bus? What three types of data might a bus carry?

(4) How does pipelining improve the efficiency of a CPU? What is the potential effect of executing a conditional branch instruction on the efficiency gained by pipelining? What technique(s) can be employed to make pipelining more efficient when executing conditional branch instructions?

(5) Carefully describe the advantages and disadvantages of master-slave multiprocessing and symmetrical multiprocessing. Which would you select for fault-tolerant computing? Why?
