The mineral silica has been shown to help in the prevention of osteoporosis and arteriosclerosis. In an effort to ingest more silica, I have collected a sample of food items to compare their silica content.

Here is my small data set of foods given per 100g quantities:

Bananas: 5.4mg

Raisins: 8.3mg

Carrot: 2.3mg

Brown rice: 2.1mg

Cornflakes: 2.4mg

After I have entered these data in to SPSS (see above) and create a labeled graph, I have:

From this graph it is easy to see that Raisins give us the highest percent of silica per 100 grams of food.
