Describe one psychological disorder to which you would like to apply a mode of treatment.

This lesson focuses on modes of treatment for psychological disorders. We will also review the various techniques used in different types of psychotherapy. You will evaluate the effectiveness of psychotherapy based on evidence presented in the text. You now have the opportunity to explore ways to address individuals’ needs, concerns, and issues.

 

To complete this week’s class discussion, please review Chapter 16, “Methods of Therapy,” and respond to all of the following prompts in the class discussion section of your online course:

 

• Describe one psychological disorder to which you would like to apply a mode of treatment.
• Choose a category of psychotherapy you think would best treat the identified psychological disorder and give a brief description of a treatment approach you would use.
• Describe why you think this treatment approach is the best method for treating the disorder you identified in this assignment.
